  1. You’ve of course simplified it but I’ve studied Economics since College (mid 1970’s) and you are correct. Anyone that’s ever played “Monopoly” knows how the game ends. ONE person has ALL the property and money. Unbridled Capitalism in the USA, for instance, would end up with a handful of Corporations owning 90+ percent of “real” property, money, etc… I’m still a Capitalist, but I know that we need social safety nets and pooled resources for a lot of what we do. “Little Fish” do starve…

  2. Anyone who believes capitalism works best when left alone has obviously not studied history or watched these films. Capitalism requires constraint. Left alone, it’s big fish – little fish until all the little fish are gone. Then there’s just one GIANT ASS FISH. lol

  3. This is simply what happens whenever too much wealth is allowed to be concentrated in a few hands. Regulations help, as do social programs. There’s no other fix for capitalism, and communism doesn’t work either. It’s worse.

This is what conservatives would call socialist

  5. Im learning this in my school.

  6. I love emo chicks.

  7. Economic freedom could not be detached from personal liberties.
Question is – what is the equality? It’s a slippery slope, especially if you would back government involvement into the enforcement of the “fairness” doctrine. There a private sector and government, right? But there is something else – it’s society that has values. Money are not equal value and if you would substitute one for another and have legalized robbery either by government or banksters – fabric of society will be torn down.

That said, the pig comment is hilarious, and seems prescient.

Goodbye, sweet American Hayekian. May you throw down the shackles of your quite patent self-interest and embrace the bright socialist future that technological advancements and a fast-changing electorate will soon deliver to you!

    Please don’t nuke me.

It is likely that, as with most disciples of Hayek, you fail to understand that a balanced, non-ideological, approach to economics is often the most effective.

Furthermore, you must realize that socialism does not aim narrowly to improve economic conditions: A more egalitarian society is one worthy of that name – where the well-being of all citizens is heightened by mutual reliance and a commonality of goals. The right, and unrestrained individualism can never deliver that.

There is no Road to Serfdom for America – or anyone else – now. True serfdom, you should be aware, was not simply an economic state, but a political one in which societies in the past were fundamentally unequal.

Subscribing wholesale to Hayek doesn’t mean you aren’t ‘brainwashed’ and, in fact, your comments stand merely as an admission that your knowledge of these issues is overwhelmingly indebted to another man’s thinking.

  11. Hello, there is a problem with your video for the last 4.5 minutes in all resolutions. From 53:22 to 57:52 (end), this video freezes, whether played in IE9 or FireFox16. Can you fix this? Thanks.

whatever gets you through the night buddy.

  13. Because of you, pal, i had to remind myself:
“Don’t ever wrestle with a pig. You’ll both get dirty, but the pig will enjoy it.”

  14. MisterBouncyBounce Reply March 18, 2013 at 9:25 am

projecting a bit are we? see the problem with you is that you think you know it all and everyone else is dumb. like you are the only one who reads books and articles and such and that that is enough to know truth, like as if you found some secret stuff that mere regular beings don’t have access to. what makes you think others haven’t heard what you have and more, thus having and then moving past your notions? you think you are on the cutting edge of issues merely because YOU read about them.

  15. Let me tell you something, pal. I already wasted my time on you, but you are ONE of the brainwashed sucker!
Your pocket is picked up every day to pay to the bail outs, countless wars and you have no clue what is happening around. Just suck your coke with high fructose corn syrup and put ground beef burger in your pie. Make sure to turn your TV because you will miss “Dancing with the Stars”. Your brain is dead.

like i said you are an idiot.

  17. Of course, it’s easier to troll on the public forums then read books, especially if you have time and education received in public school.
Hayek books are “The Road to Serfdom” and “The Constitution of Liberty”.

  18. I don’t have access “to super secret info, and i am not so special”. This info is available in abundance: book that i have mentioned. There is another one written by Rorthbard. In fact, if you would bother, you could find it on Wikipedia. What you have to do is just start questioning status quo or what is being considered as the “norm”. Example: why chain of motel 6 or super 8 is named? The answer is available on wikipedia. All you have to do – just read. Hayek published two books must read.

  19. MisterBouncyBounce Reply March 18, 2013 at 11:34 am

yeah ok pal you’re among the very few who has the truth, the rest of us don’t have access to the super secret info you have. you’re so special.

  20. You would be better to look to the mirror next time when you decide to post.
It’s really sad that this country is full of the arrogant and ignorant people who have no clue about history and the past.
