Rough Ride

I was out with a friend today to try out some skateboard shots. I am not really a sport-action sort of photographer..but i decided to try.

It was a horrible day for the shoot…with intermittent rain and cloudiness all over.

The day hasn’t been a good one really..I am having a panic attack about my future…academic and professional career. I have no experience in my field..no internship..no research projects. I am merely going through my degree without much beyond coursework. It’s pathetic and I feel like my university life is turning out to be absolutely worthless.

I have no idea what lies ahead. It’s a paralyzingly worrying thought.

Unfortunately, panic attacks can affect anyone at any age. If you don’t learn how to deal with panic attacks then they will continue and will probably get worse. This article can help you find the coping techniques that you need to get your panic attacks under control.

When feelings of panic begins to creep into your body, find a distraction as soon as possible. Think about your favorite song or do a puzzle. Do whatever you can to get your mind off of the feeling of panic. This strategy can help to prevent a full attack and get you feeling calm again.

A kneeling chair could be a good investment if you have a lot of computer time. These chairs might not be right for everyone, but if you have physical issues and panic attacks, you can help them with a kneeling chair. If you feel stressed while at work, close your eyes and do some breathing exercises.

When you feel stress coming on, make sure that you have someone to talk to. Having a friend or loved one tell you something comforting makes it easier to calm down. Even better, look to somebody to provide you with a comforting hug. You tend to feel safe and more calm when you have close human contact.

If you can assign a name to your condition, it may be remarkably more easy to find proper treatment. There are a lot of different reasons that people develop anxiety issues, the ways people deal with them will be completely different. If you feel that you cannot control panic attacks, you may want to speak with a medical professional.

Never try to self-medicate your panic attacks with alcohol. If you get used to drinking every time you have panic attacks, you may become addicted to that course of action and develop a drinking problem. If you feel the urge to drink something, drink water.

Look for some way to cool down when you sense a panic attack is imminent. For instance, take a drink of water or rub your forehead with some ice. The instant feeling of cold can shock your system, helping you to regroup and refocus.

One tip for calming panic symptoms, like racing thoughts, is the acceptance of your feelings, including any bad ones. Remember that feelings are no threat, and embracing them might offer you insight into the real sources of your anxiety. Acceptance of them will move you towards an enlightening path.

Is it possible for your panic attacks to go on forever? Keep in mind that you are the person in control of both your mind and body.

Try to drive all hours of the day and night. Do what it takes to make your car a place of secure refuge with your favorite music, hang something you love on the rear view mirror and think of your car as relaxing place. By facing your fears, you will be better able to overcome them!

When you work your muscles to exhaustion, you will get the most out of your exercise by pushing yourself hard. When you find exercises to be simple and non-exhausting, try doing something different or doing them more often.

Remaining aware of your feelings can help you realize when panic attacks are imminent, so you can stop them in their tracks. Stay focused on your thoughts before an attack occurs. Sometimes writing them down can help. Review your writings on a weekly basis, and try to look for specific triggers that caused attacks. This can help you to avoid those triggers in the future.

As discussed previously, panic attacks can take hold of anyone. If you are unsure of how to effectively treat them, they will persist indefinitely. This article was designed to show you how to deal with your panic attacks, so that you can lead a healthy, more enjoyable life.
